SA 8000 CERTIFICATION
WHAT IS SA 8000? SA 8000 is an internationally recognized certification standard that provides guidelines and requirements for social accountability in the workplace. The SA 8000 standard covers a wide range of social issues, such as child labor, forced labor, health and safety, freedom of association, discrimination, disciplinary practices, working hours, and compensation. It is based on the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. SA 8000 is a voluntary certification, meaning that organizations can choose to become certified if they meet the requirements of the standard. However, SA 8000 is also increasingly being used as a tool by companies to demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility and to differentiate themselves in the marketplace. Organizations that are certified to SA 8000 demonstrate their compliance with the standard through an independent, third-party audit. Who can Apply for SA 8000 Certifica...
